50's pin up

50's pin up

I am a member of the Fundy Camera Club here in saint John. We have monthly meetings where we share ideas and take the opportunity to try new things. This is from our meeting in November where one of the club members set up studio lights with remote triggers and models came in to pose for us.

In my studio

In my studio

This beautiful girl is my neighbour's daughter, Emma. I have a room in my home where I have my computer and an empty wall that I could put up a back drop. I don't have studio lights. The room is small enough that a flash bounced off the ceiling produces good results. Emma was pretty excited about coming over to the studio to model for me.

Being a member of the Fundy Camera Club has it's perks. Every year, members from our club are asked to volunteer our time to cover this awesome event. This was my first year at the event. I am looking forward to next year with great anticipation! It is a lot of fun just roaming around and taking photos of all the day's events.

Best Capt'n Morgan Pose

Best Capt'n Morgan Pose

This is from a family photo shoot I did in Meehan's cove about 3 years ago. It turns out that the hardest part of the shoot was with these two young lads. They were scared to death of me, looking much like a couple of deer caught in the headlights when their aunt said she wanted a photo of just the two of them. They both stood there, facing me straight on, arms at their sides and a terrified smile locked awkwardly on their faces...until I asked them to give me their "Best Capt'n Morgan Pose"!

This photo serves two purposes... It was the monthly entry into the Camera Club competition theme "Faceless Portrait" and is engagement photos for a friend of mine who happens to love horses.
